Sheetz Events
The Sheetz family is amazing. You’d never guess they were running a Fortune 500 company. They are remarkably relaxed and personable, and they treat their staff like family. One way they show staff their appreciation is through a series of events every year with the sole purpose being to celebrate with, bond with, and inform their employees. I’ve had the pleasure of being involved in these events over the last several year, and here are some of my favorite highlights from the company that is consistently voted one of the Top 100 Places to Work.

SheetzFEST 2018
Every year Sheetz treats any employee celebrating a 5-year reunion to SheetzFEST, an all expenses paid vacation to 2 days of resort fun and activities. In 2018, Sheetz decided on a Luau theme. With a tight budget, my team and I used a tiki-god logo, bright bold colors, and an illustrative style to get everyone in the mood of the islands.

Sheetz Year-End 2018
At the end of each year Sheetz flies store managers and top corporate staff to an awesome location to discuss the previous year and the year ahead…and party the way only Sheetz employees can. In 2018 it was San Antonio that welcomed the Sheetz Freakz for 3 days of parties, awards dinners, activities, presentations, and armadillos.

SheetzFEST 2019
Sheetz picked another fun theme for their annual SheetFEST…space! After discussing everything from alien invasions to giant sand worms we decided on a bit more conservative direction. I called it 1982 Space Futurism—an homage to what 80s movies thought space travel would be today.
